Is Webflow Pricing $25, or $230 After Seats?

Basic $15/mo yearly, Premium $25. Site + workspace + seats: a solo brochure is $15; a 5-person team hits $230/mo.

Updated 17 min read
Webflow homepage

Webflow is worth it for a solo site on Basic at $15/mo billed yearly, or Premium at $25/mo if you need a CMS. A five-person team on Premium plus Growth plus four extra full seats pays $230/mo before add-ons.

Framer still sells one bill. Webflow sells a Site plan and a Workspace plan, then seats.

You buy hosting per published domain, a workspace for staging and people, then meters for bandwidth, locales, and experiments.

The canvas is the reason teams stay. The invoice is the reason they leave.

Key Takeaways

  • Verdict: Buy Webflow if one person can ship on a Site plan inside a free Starter workspace. Pause if you thought $25 was the team invoice.
  • Best for: A brochure or CMS marketing site where you want a visual editor and are willing to pay per published domain.
  • Pricing: Basic $15/mo billed yearly; Premium $25/mo billed yearly; Core workspace $19/mo; extra full seats $39/mo. Official calculator omits workspace, seats, Optimize, Analyze, and Localization.
  • Biggest strength: A paid Site plan can live in a free Starter workspace. Hosting is the Site plan.
  • Biggest weakness: Two (sometimes three) SKUs, and the pricing calculator still does not add them.

What Is Webflow?

Webflow homepage
Webflow homepage.

Webflow is a browser visual editor that publishes HTML, CSS, and JS, with a native CMS and hosting on the same bill as the Site plan. Webflow, Inc. launched in 2013 out of Y Combinator. Linda Tong has been CEO since June 2024.

The About page (live September 2026) lists 3.5M users and $335M raised. The last public valuation was $4B at the March 2022 Series C.

Webflow charges one Site plan per custom-domain site, a Workspace plan for the account that holds those sites, and seats for anyone past the owner who needs Designer or editor access. Mailchimp meters contacts. Apollo meters seats plus credits.

Just Pricing already maps add-on meters on Mixpanel, opaque contracts on Carta, and revenue models that hide a second SKU. Webflow's version is two named plans on one credit card that the public calculator refuses to sum.

Two Bills: The Invoice the Calculator Skips

Official Help is blunt. A Site plan is one published website: custom domain, hosting, CMS, pages, and bandwidth for that site. A Workspace plan is the account where you stage sites and invite people: staging slots, collaboration, code export.

Each custom-domain site needs its own Site plan. Any Workspace can hold unlimited paid sites. You get one free Starter Workspace per customer.

Extra Workspaces must be paid. Buying seats does not require upgrading the Workspace. Each Workspace supports one credit card, which pays Site plans, the Workspace plan, seats, and add-ons in that Workspace.

The calculator FAQ says Workspace plans, seats, and add-ons like Optimize, Analyze, and Localization "are not included." Ranking pages dump two tables. Nobody on page 1 adds them up for two named buyers.

Derek Siu recorded the confusion before the May 2026 rename. The SKU names changed. The split did not.

A free Starter workspace plus a paid Site plan is enough when only the owner needs Designer.

"You don't actually need a workspace plan at all. You can just stick with the free if it's only like one website in that workspace or even two websites or even five websites. But, as long as those websites are tied to a paid site plan, then you're good."
Derek Siu (19:34)

On r/webflow, the recurring problem is quoting a Site plan, then discovering collaborator access lives on a different SKU.

"I’ve been using Webflow for years and NEVER have been able to understand the pricing models nor fully communicate to my clients which plan they needed and why."
u/proteanradish in r/webflow (February 2026)

Three live Premium sites is three Site plans. Per-site multiplication is the in-house surprise the $25 card never shows.

Starter is the free Site and the free Workspace default. Learn on webflow.io. Starter is not a paid tier.

Basic is the entry paid site: custom domain, password protection, 300 static pages. No CMS.

If the brief is a 5 to 10 page brochure, this is the SKU. Paying Premium for a site with no collections is wasted CMS headroom.

Premium is the live SKU that replaced CMS and Business on May 13, 2026: blog, portfolio, dynamic listings, form uploads, site search, code components. CMS items jumped 2,000 → 20,000. Collections jumped 20 → 40.

If an invoice still says CMS or Business, that is a legacy label migrating at the next renewal or billable change. Do not treat $23 / $39 as current list prices. Those were the old CMS yearly and Business monthly cards.

Bandwidth on the old Business plan dropped 100 GB → 50 GB. Content-heavy sites that lived on CMS are the stated winners. High-traffic Business sites are the stated losers.

Team at $2,500/mo (annual contract) is a third bill, not a Site-plan upgrade. Help says it bundles Workspace, Site, Localize, AEO agents, page branching, and 10 seats. The pricing card also shows 2 locales included.

Use Team when you have outgrown self-serve (100 collections, publishing workflows). Skip it for a 50-page SaaS marketing site that only needed Premium hosting.

Ecommerce is an overlay, not a Site-plan rung. Standard is $29/mo billed yearly, 500 items, 2% Webflow fee.

Plus is $74 (5,000 items, 0% Webflow fee) and Advanced is $212 (15,000 items, 0%). Stripe and PayPal still apply.

Switching a store to Premium disables checkout. Ecommerce list prices did not move in May 2026.

Core and Growth are plans, not per-seat prices. The owner gets one full seat. You can add up to 100 free Reviewer seats.

Extra Full seats are $39/mo billed yearly. Limited seats are $15/mo billed yearly. Reviewer (Free) is $0.

Core is the code-export and Shared Libraries rung. Growth adds site password protection, 301s, site-specific access, and publishing permissions. Agency is justified by unlimited staging and three free client seats per site, not by Designer seats.

The seat surprise is the line item freelancers fail to quote.

"When I tried to give them full Designer access, Webflow would not let me edit their role in my site settings without upgrading to a Growth workspace (~$60/month) plus continuing to pay for the additional seat (~$40/month). That increases our cost from ~$300/year to about ~$1,200/year just to add one full-access teammate."
u/CaseAmbitious6939 in r/webflow (February 2026)

Those thread dollars are texture, not list prices. Official yearly cards: extra Full seat $39/mo, and Growth only if you need Growth features.

Help says buying seats does not require upgrading Workspace. Promoting a Limited seat to Designer from site settings is what surfaces the Growth upsell. Buy the extra Full seat in Workspace settings, or have the extra designer join as a Freelancer guest.

The stay-on-Webflow save: transfer the site to the client's free Starter workspace. The client buys only the Site plan. You return as a Freelancer or Agency guest at $0.

"This tier allows them to invite up to 2 Freelancer or Agency guests… There is no additional cost for this feature. So… Total: $18/month."
u/webflowmaker in r/webflow (November 2025)

$18/mo in that thread is an old Basic card. On current yearly pricing the same handoff is Basic $15/mo or Premium $25/mo on the client's Starter workspace. Inverse (keeping the site on your workspace so you remain Designer) is lock-in: the client never owns the account, and every extra editor is your seat bill.

Flowout on LinkedIn (August 2026): shared logins stop working, and every editor needs a unique email. Handoff on the client's workspace is how you avoid a second Designer SKU.

A billable change is upgrading or downgrading the base Site plan, or switching monthly ↔ yearly. Editing content is not billable.

Switching to yearly before your conversion date locks the old Site plan for one more year. There is no forever-grandfather. Auto-migrate hits at the next renewal or billable change.

The May blog says: "Some customers will see a price increase, some a decrease, and some no change at all."

"The headline change is that the CMS plan and the business plan are gone. And they've been merged into a new plan called premium."
MembesTech in "Webflow Pricing 2026: Winners, Losers, and Smart Workarounds for Creators" (1:52)
"Your included bandwidth drops from 100 GB to 50. And to get back to 100, you need to add a $20 add-on. So, the real cost at the end of the day is $45, which is $6 more than before. So, the lower headline price doesn't really tell a full story for high traffic sites."
MembesTech (3:23)

Small-org CMS customers on Reddit describe the hike as paying for 20,000 items they did not ask for.

u/fawnover in r/webflow (May 2026) put the CMS-to-Premium jump at 34% for small clients who never asked for 20,000 items. Treat that percentage as a freelancer's invoice, not Webflow's list price.

If you were on Business and stay under 50 GB, you got a cut. If you were on yearly 150 GB, you pay $6 more. If you need 500 GB, the headline drop is cosmetic: you still land at $199.

Date-stamp every number you quote. The pricing page defaults to yearly, so on-screen cards are not monthly list.

Bandwidth (Premium)

+$20/mo yearly / +$30 monthly per +50 GB

Ladder to ~2.45 TB. Scenario B/C math

Localize card text is "based on # of locales." Treat $9 / $29 as starting meters, not a flat plan that includes N locales, unless Help on your account is tighter.

Broworks maps the architecture choice that creates the third bill: one Webflow site plus Localize, or separate Site plans inside one Workspace. N locales on one site is a Localize meter. N regions as N live sites is N Premium cards.

The official bandwidth lever is +$20/mo yearly per +50 GB on Premium. Surge protection covers a temporary spike; two consecutive months over the limit triggers an automatic plan upgrade. You buy chunks rather than watching the site go down.

Webflow Cloud overage is $2 per million requests and $2 per 5 CPU hours. Irrelevant for a static marketing site.

WordPress.com

Hosted plan, or self-host + host + plugins

More vendors, not more Webflow-style SKUs

Webflow costs more to quote than it costs to host a solo brochure. Basic at $15/mo billed yearly is not the expensive SKU. Growth plus four Full seats is.

Framer is the price-sensitive move when you want one invoice and can live without Webflow's CMS collections and agency guest model.

WordPress.com hosted plans collapse host, CDN, and CMS into one vendor. Ecommerce on Webflow Standard still adds a 2% Webflow fee on top of Stripe or PayPal, the same shape as the Stripe review: the headline rate is never the only rate.

Webflow Pros and Cons

Pros

  • A paid site can sit in a free workspace. Starter Workspace plus Basic or Premium is a complete live site for a solo owner.
  • Visual editor plus CMS on one Site plan. Premium's 20,000 items / 40 collections is the May winner for content-heavy marketing sites.
  • Client handoff can be $0 for the freelancer. Transfer to the client's Starter workspace, return as a guest, client pays only the Site plan.
  • Agency client seats are bundled. Agency includes 3 free client seats per site. Reviewer seats are free up to 100.
  • Code export exists (Core and up). You can leave with static code. You cannot leave with the CMS.

Cons

  • Two bills, and the calculator skips the second. Workspace, seats, Optimize, Analyze, and Localization are excluded from the public quote.
  • Seats are easy to miss in a proposal. Promoting an editor from site settings surfaces a Workspace upsell. Full seats are $39/mo billed yearly.
  • Bandwidth moved from plan to add-on. Old Business 100 GB is now Premium 50 GB plus +$20/mo yearly chunks.
  • Ecommerce Standard takes 2%. Plus starts at $74/mo billed yearly to zero that fee, before processor fees.

Who Should Use Webflow?

Webflow is ideal for:

  • Solo founders and freelancers who can live on Basic or Premium inside a free Starter workspace, then transfer the site so the client owns the account
  • Content-heavy marketing teams that actually use 20,000 CMS items and want non-devs editing in the canvas
  • Agencies on Agency workspace who keep ≤3 client seats per site and refuse to host the client's live domain on the studio card

Webflow is NOT ideal for:

  • Buyers who need one line item. Use Framer or Squarespace
  • High-bandwidth sites that treated 100 GB as "included." Premium starts at 50 GB
  • Catalog stores that will sit on Standard's 2% instead of Plus
  • Five-person teams whose budget was the Premium card alone

Webflow Alternatives Worth Considering

Builder roundups live on UI Things (Webflow alternatives), not here.

Final Verdict: Worth It on Basic, Pricey Once Seats Appear

Pay Webflow when one owner can ship on Basic or Premium and hand the workspace to the client. Skip Webflow when the buying question was "is it $25?" and the honest yearly card for a five-person team is $230 before Optimize. Quote both columns, or you are not quoting Webflow.
